The Full Story
The Studio
In late 2020 I began the process of building out a new studio space for my work. The plan was to re-fit an unused shed and transform it into a professional audio facility. Over the course of about six months I went to work designing and constructing this new studio. Taking on a project of this scale was quite daunting, as I had very little experience in anything related to carpentry, but with the help of family and friends we made it happen! I am very proud of what we accomplished and the studio delivers in both sound and style. Here are some photos from the journey!
Features
- The studio is outfitted with 4" of acoustic insulation in every wall of the space; creating one giant bass trap and handling all problematic room reflections.
- The structure is de-coupled from the concrete, creating a "floating floor" which enhances low end response and transparency.
- There are outlets installed in the floor for convenient access to power for amplifiers, pedal boards, phone charging and whatever else might need A/C power.
The Opening
